Corequisite Courses

Barton Community College provides support to students as they take college-level math and English courses through corequisite support courses. Students who do not meet the placement requirements for College Algebra, Elements of Statistics, Contemporary Math, or English Composition I are able to enroll in a paired corequisite support course to be completed at the same time. The corequisite support course is taken for an additional two credit hours and is designed to provide just-in-time support resources that assist students while they learn the college-level course material. When students enroll in the corequisite support course, the course shells are merged together, providing seamless access to college-level course content and support materials.

The following courses are paired as corequisite courses.  Corequisite course are typically offered in 12 or 16 week sessions. 

ENGL 1204 English Composition I and ENGL 1209 Corequisite English

MATH 1826 College Algebra Corequisite Support and MATH 1828 College Algebra 

QMAT 1826 Contemporary Math Corequisite and QMAT 1828 Contemporary Math

STAT 1826 Elements of Statistics Corequisite and STAT 1828 Elements of Statistics
